Guild Television, the University of Birmingham's student-run television station is now in its 40th year and we are looking for enthusiastic, talented individuals to join us:

TELEVISION - NO EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
It is becoming ever more important for those interested in a career in broadcast journalism, production or the film industry to demonstrate their knowledge and understanding of how the media industry works.

No previous broadcasting experience is necessary at G:TV - we can provide training in filming, editing, presenting and much more!

GET TURNED ON Every Wednesday from 2pm in the G:TV Studio situated in the media centre - basement of the Guild of Students.


Please note: G:TV are not a production/filming company, we cannot lend or hire equipment or take on projects from groups or individuals outside of our society. We film many events of interest to us around the Guild and if you would like to let us know about your event, please send us a message and we will let you know if we are interested/available.

Aitken, Maple, Elgar Winter Ball 09

 

 

The Winter Ball celebrations of Aitken Wing, Maple Bank and Elgar Court RAs at the University of Birmingham. The event was held at Aston Villa Football Club and includes footage of the meal, live band, dancing and speeches by the outgoing and incoming RAs.

G:TV's popular soap SellyOaks is back for its second series. This week we join the SellyOakers at their start of term party, however things don't go as smoothly as anticipated...

Winner of J Model Management Scout Announced! G:TV at J Model Fashion Show, Oceana by Clare Hall (Sat, 24th Oct 2009)
G:TV caught up with J Model Management on Saturday 17th October at Oceana, Birmingham, for the finals of their J Model Management Model Scout 2009.

Since the O Bar Model Party the models had been whittled down to just 10 finalists who competed in Casual, Evening and Swimwear categories. Judges Jessica Minh Anh, Justin Orwin and Chris, Oceana Manager, then chose Chanelle Goodchild, Biher Tewelde and Ashley Smallwood-Rose as their 3 finalists.

G:TV would like to congratulate Ashley who was eventually crowned the J Model Management Model Scout 2009 winner! Ashley has now been signed to J Model.

The evening concluded with a fashion show with brands including Coast, New Era, Henleys, Puma, Aftershock, Preview and Top Rock

Guild of Students infested by zombies by Clare Hall (Sat, 24th Oct 2009)
On Wednesday 14th October, the Guild of Students was shocked and alarmed by the appearance of 20+ flesh-eating, bloodstained zombies.

Lauren Barnes, GTV Production Manager, led the group of zombies across campus and through Selly Oak (much to local residents' alarm) to the location where they were to film G:TV's event to the 2009 Monster Movie Challenge.
